Rainbow Easter Eggs

With Easter next weekend, I promised Eleanor that we would colour eggs. That being said, colouring eggs with a toddler can be challenging. I found this kit while shopping, I and thought I could do the same thing at home without needing to buy the kit. This turned out to be a simple, mess-free way to decorate eggs that anyone could do with a little one at home.

What You Need:

  • Hard Boiled Eggs
  • Ziploc Bags
  • Food Colouring

First, hard boil your eggs. I’m not keen on hard boiled eggs, so I needed to look up how to do it. This website explains how to cook them very easily.  When they are finished cooking, cool them down and let them dry to room temperature.

Place an egg into a Ziploc bag and add 2-3 drops of two or three different coloured food colourings onto the egg.

Allow your toddler to rub the outside of the bag until the entire egg is coloured.

Let them dry. If there is excess dye on the egg, gently wipe it off with a paper towel.

And, you’re finished. These beautiful eggs would look lovely in any Easter basket or as a centre-piece on your table for Easter supper.
