What do you love about being an Intellidance® Teacher?

I love being able to dance and sing all day! Mostly I love to watch so many wonderful babies and children light up, learn, explore, express themselves and grow! and I love meeting and seeing so many wonderful families!

What is your favourite Intellidance® activity?

I love so many activities it’s hard to pick just one! I do love all of the sensory activities because they add such a wonderful dynamic to the musical and dance experience in the lessons...dancing scarves are a particular favourite, but at the moment if I had to just pick one activity it would be singing with the resonator bells! When everyone is playing and singing together it creates such a musical and magical experience that everyone just loves!

What is your favourite quote?

"Do not look back and grieve over the past, for it is gone; and do not be troubled about the future, for it has yet to come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering."
- Ida Scott Taylor McKinney

What advice do you have for parents when first starting an Intellidance® program?

My advice for parents starting the programme for the first time would be to know that each child learns differently and that’s okay! That each child will express themselves in their own time and in their own way and that’s okay! and that the focus of this programme is to understand we are all here to support each child’s learning, confidence and growth through positive, playful, imaginative and loving interactions with each other.

What is your funniest teacher story?

There are so many funny, sweet and special moments when you teach children it’s hard to just pick one! We have a lot of fun together and share a lot of laughter! ...I had a baby in one of my classes who was so animated that whenever certain activities or songs came on his face would light up and his entire body would dance so enthusiastically it made everyone in the class laugh! ...moments like these are so special to me because it so clearly shows just how much these little ones are taking in, remembering, anticipating and predicting in class! and most of all how much they are enjoying the truly special moments we spend dancing, singing, exploring and playing together!
